CVS Health Corporation in the United States seeks a Senior Manager for Platform Engineering / DevOps to lead enterprise cloud platform initiatives. The role blends hands-on engineering with team leadership, driving secure, scalable platform solutions across multiple workstreams.

You will own the platform roadmap, guide GitOps adoption, and ensure alignment with security and governance while mentoring engineers and coordinating cross-team efforts.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in DevOps, platform engineering, or SRE.
• 4+ years of experience in team leadership, managing mid-sized teams (5–10 engineers).
• 3+ years of experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) including GKE, IAM, networking.
• 3+ years of Kubernetes and container orchestration.
• 3+ years of CI/CD pipelines and GitOps workflows.
• 3+ years of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, KCC, Kustomize).
• 4+ years of Agile/Scrum delivery and sprint execution; incident management.
• 3+ years designing and troubleshooting cloud networking (VPCs, routing, load balancing, firewalls).
• Experience in regulated industries (healthcare) is a plus;
• Certifications such as PMP, Scrum Master (CSM), or SAFe; GCP Architect are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own and execute the H100 platform engineering roadmap aligned to priorities.
• Drive delivery of GCP-based platform capabilities (GKE, networking, IAM, CI/CD, observability).
• Establish and enforce engineering standards, best practices, and ADR compliance.
• Ensure adherence to security, compliance, and governance (SOC2, HIPAA).
• Partner with stakeholders and cross-functional teams (security, networking, apps).
• Provide clear status reporting, risk identification, and mitigation strategies.
• Coordinate dependencies across teams and delivery streams.
• Act as technical and delivery point of contact for platform discussions.
• Oversee GCP landing zone components (IAM, networking).
• Guide adoption of GitOps models and CI/CD frameworks (Config Sync, ArgoCD, GitHub Actions).
• Monitor platform SLOs and operational metrics (uptime, MTTR, deployment frequency).
• Identify risks, capacity constraints, and improvement opportunities.
• Lead incident response and escalation management, including post-mortems.
• Ensure runbooks/docs and operational procedures.
• Support SRE practices and production readiness models.
• Maintain platform reliability and stability.
• Lead a team of engineers (FTEs + contractors).
• Provide mentorship and performance direction; onboarding for contractors.
• Promote continuous improvement and accountability.
• Identify automation opportunities and AI-driven ops tooling.
• Evaluate cloud security tools and DevOps efficiency; adopt modern platform practices.
