Job summary

CVS Health is seeking a Senior Manager to lead Platform Engineering and DevOps. You will own the H100 platform roadmap, drive GCP-based capabilities, and enforce standards for secure, scalable cloud platforms.

You will mentor engineers, coordinate cross-team delivery, and advance GitOps, CI/CD, and incident response in a large healthcare tech environment. You will collaborate with security, networking, and applications teams to deliver reliable platform services, monitor SLOs, and ensure

Qualifications

7+ years of experience in DevOps, platform engineering, or SRE.
4+ years of experience in team leadership, management, or technical lead roles, leading mid-sized teams (5 to 10 engineers).
3+ years of experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) (GKE, IAM, networking, monitoring).
3+ years of experience with Kubernetes and container-based systems.
3+ years of experience with CI/CD pipelines and GitOps workflows.
3+ years of experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, KCC, Kustomize).
4+ years of experience with Agile/Scrum delivery and sprint execution.
Incident management and SRE practices experience.
Cross-team coordination and stakeholder communication.
1+ years of experience with AI-driven operations or automation frameworks.
3+ years of experience cloud networking (VPCs, routing, load balancing, firewalls, DNS, hybrid connectivity).
3+ years of experience in production/support with on-call rotations.
3+ years of experience with databases (SQL, Oracle, MongoDB, Cassandra, Cloud Spanner, or Kafka).

Responsibilities

Own and execute the H100 platform engineering roadmap, aligned to enterprise priorities.
Drive delivery of GCP-based platform capabilities (GKE, networking, IAM, CI/CD, observability).
Establish and enforce engineering standards, best practices, and ADR compliance.
Ensure security, compliance, and governance requirements (SOC2, HIPAA).
Partner with client stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
Provide clear status reporting, risk identification, and mitigation strategies.
Coordinate dependencies across teams and delivery streams.
Act as a technical and delivery point of contact for platform-related discussions.
Oversee implementation of GCP landing zone components.
Guide adoption of GitOps models and CI/CD frameworks (Config Sync, ArgoCD, GitHub Actions).
Monitor platform SLOs and operational metrics (uptime, MTTR, deployment frequency).
Identify risks, capacity constraints, and improvement opportunities.
Lead incident response and escalation management, including post-mortems.
Ensure availability of runbooks, documentation, and operational procedures.
Support SRE practices and production readiness models.
Maintain platform reliability and operational stability.
Lead a team of engineers (FTEs + contractors), provide mentorship.
