Job summary

Reuters is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to design and deliver backend services that power AI agent workflows, improve reliability, and drive scalable cloud infrastructure. You will contribute to CI/CD, deployment tooling, and observability, working across cross-functional teams in a hybrid environment.

The role requires strong Python or equivalent backend skills, hands-on AWS, Kubernetes (EKS), PostgreSQL/Redis, and IaC experience, with a focus on scalable, secure, and maintainable systems

Qualifications

• 4+ years of professional software engineering experience building backend systems.
• Experience designing, building, and operating backend systems in production.
• Strong knowledge of Python (or similar) and distributed systems.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver backend and platform services powering AI agent workflows.
• Contribute to CI/CD and progressive-delivery infrastructure.
• Build and maintain cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC).
• Ensure observability with metrics, logging, and tracing.
