Job summary

Thomson Reuters is seeking a Lead Platform Engineer to lead the design, architecture, and delivery of backend and platform services powering AI agent workflows. You will own cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, and progressive delivery, collaborating with Product, Applied AI, and Engineering to scale reliable systems.

You'll mentor engineers, participate in on-call rotations, and drive reliability, observability, and cost efficiency across Kubernetes and AWS Bedrock AgentCore.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience
• Experience building distributed backend systems
• Strong Python or similar backend language proficiency
• Experience with relational DBs and caching/messaging
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and IaC
• Observability and incident response experience
• Experience with AI/LLM-powered systems preferred

Responsibilities

• Lead design and delivery of backend/platform services powering AI agent workflows
• Own and evolve cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, and progressive delivery
• Drive cross-functional initiatives with Product, Applied AI, and Infrastructure teams
• Improve reliability, observability, performance, and cost efficiency
• Mentor engineers and influence technical direction
• Participate in on-call rotation and support customer-facing systems
