Job summary

Thomson Reuters is hiring a Lead Platform Engineer to guide backend and platform services powering AI agent workflows. You will shape architecture, reliability, and scale while collaborating with Product, Applied AI, and Infrastructure teams.

In this role you will own cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, and IaC, drive cross-functional initiatives, and mentor engineers to raise code quality and operational excellence. A hybrid work model and strong benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Approximately 7+ years of professional software engineering experience designing, building, and operating large-scale backend systems.
• Strong proficiency in Python (FastAPI or similar) or another backend language with distributed systems experience.
• Hands-on expertise with relational databases and caching/messaging technologies, API design, and cloud-native platforms.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure-as-Code, and progressive delivery practices.
• Strong observability, monitoring, and troubleshooting skills with tools like OpenTelemetry, Datadog, and Prometheus.
• Experience with AI/LLM-powered systems, including agent runtimes, gateways, and retrieval systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and delivery of backend and platform services powering AI agent workflows.
• Own and evolve cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, and IaC for safe, continuous deployment.
• Drive cross-functional initiatives with Product and AI teams to align priorities.
• Improve reliability, observability, performance, and cost efficiency across Kubernetes and AI runtimes.
• Mentor engineers and influence technical direction across the organization.
• Participate in on-call rotations to support production systems.
