Job summary

Ladders is seeking a Principal Platform Engineer to shape secure, scalable cloud platform services and modernize core systems. You will partner with software engineers, architecture, and infrastructure teams to improve reliability, security, observability, and developer productivity in a fast-moving environment.

This hands-on technical leadership role requires guiding service-based deployments, mentoring engineers, and defining platform strategy.

Qualifications

10+ years of experience in DevOps, infrastructure, cloud, or software engineering.
Expertise in platform architecture with a focus on scalability, reliability, security, and observability.
Advanced knowledge of AWS services, including compute, networking, and storage solutions.
Hands-on experience with CI/CD, Kubernetes, GitOps, and ArgoCD.
Strong ability to shape cross-functional architecture discussions and influence future platform investments.
Proven mentoring skills with a track record of fostering high-accountability engineering cultures.

Responsibilities

Define the technical vision for secure and scalable cloud platform services.
Lead the modernization of legacy systems by guiding application developers toward service-based deployments.
Establish and promote platform reliability practices such as observability and incident response.
Enhance delivery standards through improved security and asset management measures.
Develop tools and processes to improve developer experience and productivity.
Mentor engineers and influence architecture and standards across engineering teams.
