Affirm is seeking a Senior Data Platform Engineer to build, operate, and extend our data infrastructure across OLTP and OLAP systems. You will contribute to secure access, governance, and self-service tooling, enabling teams to work with data at scale.

You’ll partner across security, infrastructure, and application teams, driving reliable pipelines, AI-ready tooling, and robust incident response. This remote-first role emphasizes high standards and impact.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience operating a cloud analytical data platform with governance and cost optimization.

Responsibilities

• Build and operate core platform features enabling data apps at scale.
• Develop integrations between platform and internal systems (CI/CD, identity, APIs).
• Strengthen data access controls, masking, and secure views across analytics infra.
• Automate toil for self-service provisioning and incident response.
• Improve observability, telemetry, logging, and runbooks for faster recovery.
• Participate in on-call coverage and platform maintenance with care for engineers.
