Affirm is seeking a senior platform engineer to build and operate core data platform capabilities, enabling data applications at scale. You will design secure access, automate toil, and drive self-service tooling for engineering teams across the organization.

The role emphasizes platform reliability, governance, and building next-generation semantic layer infrastructure with AI-ready data tooling, while participating in on-call coverage and incident response.

Qualifications

• Cloud analytical data platform experience with governance, cost optimization, and elevated-privilege considerations.
• Containerized apps: Docker image management, CI/CD design, deployment automation.
• Experience building internal platforms and self-service tooling for engineers.
• Strong integrations and networking: REST APIs, OAuth/OIDC, secrets management, identity patterns.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL for platform services.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement platform features to enable data apps at scale.
• Develop integrations between the platform and CI/CD, identity, and APIs.
• Strengthen data access and governance with RBAC and secure views.
• Automate toil and enable self-service for platform users.
• Improve observability, telemetry, and incident response.
