Job summary

Affirm is building a scalable data platform to support its data infrastructure across OLTP and OLAP systems. You will design, operate, and extend platform capabilities enabling teams to build data apps at scale with secure access and reliable deployments.

The role emphasizes on-call readiness, observability, and a roadmap toward agentic data tooling and AI-ready workflows, while fostering collaboration across security, infrastructure, and application teams.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience operating a cloud analytical data platform.
• Experience with access control design and data governance.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL for platform services.
• Experience with containerized apps, CI/CD, and deployment automation.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement platform features to enable data apps at scale.
• Build and maintain integrations with CI/CD, identity management, external APIs, and event-driven hooks.
• Design secure data access patterns across analytical infrastructure and governance models.
• Identify recurring toil and build self-service tooling for platform users.
• Improve observability, telemetry, and incident response with runbooks and patterns.
• Participate in on-call coverage and platform maintenance.
• Contribute to the platform roadmap including semantic layer and AI tooling.
• Maintain high standards in code review and operational readiness.
