Job summary

Schneider Electric is seeking a senior engineering leader in the United States to lead a platform and developer experience team. You will drive backlog prioritization, turn identified needs into well-defined work, and partner with engineers and stakeholders to maximize business impact while maintaining platform health and security.

You will coach engineers, foster ownership, and balance new capabilities with ongoing operations.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of professional software engineering experience, including leading technical initiatives and delivering software in an agile environment.
• 5+ years of experience managing and developing software engineers, including performance coaching, career development, and performance reviews.
• Experience leading a platform, enablement, developer experience, or infrastructure engineering team, with responsibility for technical direction and delivery.
• Experience with discovery and prioritization across a broad engineering backlog, including identifying engineering needs, evaluating opportunities, balancing competing priorities, and making informed trade-offs based on business impact and effort.
• Experience partnering with engineers and cross-functional stakeholders to understand pain points, uncover unmet needs, and translate them into actionable, prioritized work.
• Strong technical leadership skills, including guiding technical decisions, promoting engineering best practices, and delivering reliable, maintainable, and secure software and infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Owns discovery and prioritization across the team's backlog and translates needs into prioritized work.
• Plans and directs day-to-day team work, removes obstacles, and enables success.
• Provides technical leadership and mentors engineers, guiding decisions and best practices.
• Communicates priorities, progress, risks, and opportunities to engineering leadership and stakeholders.
