Job summary

Constellation seeks a Senior Manager, Platform Architecture to lead the strategic design, development, and evolution of critical IT platforms powering energy operations.

The role requires hands-on leadership, deep architectural expertise, and a track record of delivering scalable, secure systems in a dynamic energy IT landscape. Collaboration with product, security, and operations teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline (CS, engineering tech, etc.).
• 10+ years of progressive IT architecture and technology-heavy experience.
• 3 years of leadership in cross-functional or large-scale projects.
• Analytical and problem-resolution abilities with adaptability and initiative.
• Deep expertise in scalable, reliable, and secure enterprise IT platforms.
• Strong understanding of architectural patterns: microservices, serverless, event-driven, API-first.

Responsibilities

• Define, evangelize, and govern architectural principles, standards, and best practices across IT platforms.
• Develop and maintain the long-term platform architecture roadmap, aligning with business objectives and technology trends.
• Lead design and implementation of scalable, resilient, secure, and performant platform solutions.
• Drive the adoption of modern architectural patterns (microservices, event-driven, cloud-native) and relevant technologies.
• Conduct architectural reviews, provide technical guidance, and ensure adherence to standards across development teams.
• Evaluate and recommend new technologies and tools to enhance platform capabilities.
• Proactively identify architectural risks and debt, proposing mitigation strategies.
• Collaborate with product management, engineering, operations, and cybersecurity teams to translate requirements into designs.
• Act as a technical SME, providing hands-on architectural guidance for complex challenges.
• Oversee implementation of architectural designs, ensuring alignment with standards and quality.
• Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends, especially in energy IT.
• Champion innovation and research into new architectural approaches.
