Responsibilities

Expected salary range of $174,600 to $194,000, varies based on experience, along with comprehensive benefits package that includes bonus and 401(k).

Primary Purpose of Position

We are seeking an experienced and visionary Senior Manager, Platform Architecture, to lead the strategic design, development, and evolution of our critical IT platforms. This role will be instrumental in defining our architectural roadmap, ensuring scalability, reliability, security, and performance of our core systems that power our energy operations. The ideal candidate is a hands-on technical leader with a strong architectural background, proven leadership skills, and a passion for driving innovation in a dynamic energy IT landscape.

Primary Duties and Accountabilities

• Define, evangelize, and govern the architectural principles, standards, and best practices across IT platforms.
• Develop and maintain the long-term platform architecture roadmap, aligning it with business objectives, technology trends, and industry standards within the energy sector.
• Lead the design and implementation of highly scalable, resilient, secure, and performant platform solutions.
• Drive the adoption of modern architectural patterns (e.g. microservices, event-driven architectures, cloud-native) and relevant technologies.
• Conduct architectural reviews, provide technical guidance, and ensure adherence to architectural standards across development teams.
• Evaluate and recommend new technologies and tools that enhance platform capabilities and efficiency.
• Proactively identify architectural risks and technical debt, proposing and implementing mitigation strategies.
• Collaborate closely with product management, engineering, operations, and cybersecurity teams to translate business requirements into robust architectural designs.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in technical discipline (Computer Science, Computer Science Engineer, Engineering Technology, etc)
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in IT architecture and technology‑heavy roles, with a significant focus on platform design and development.
• 3 years of demonstrated leadership experience, either through direct people management or by leading large‑scale technical projects involving cross‑functional teams and senior‑level stakeholders.
• Analytical and problem resolution skills, adaptability to change and strong initiative
• Deep expertise in designing and building scalable, reliable, and secure enterprise‑grade IT platforms.
• Strong understanding of architectural patterns (e.g., microservices, serverless, event‑driven, API‑first).

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field; Master's degree or MBA preferred.
• Experience defining and executing enterprise architecture strategies for large‑scale corporate application portfolios across areas such as HR, Legal, Finance, Cyber Security, Audit, Supply, and enterprise shared services.
• Experience developing target‑state architectures, technology roadmaps, application rationalization strategies, and platform modernization plans that drive business value and operational efficiency.
• Deep understanding of enterprise integrations, cloud‑based SaaS solutions, data architecture, cybersecurity, identity and access management, and architecture governance frameworks.
• Experience leading large‑scale enterprise transformations, platform consolidations, mergers and acquisitions integrations, or modernization initiatives.
• Working knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks such as TOGAF, Gartner EA Framework, or similar frameworks.
• Experience partnering with strategic vendors and solution architects to co‑develop executable technology roadmaps and provide vendor‑neutral guidance for RFI and RFP processes.
• Familiarity with enterprise SaaS and ERP ecosystems such as Oracle Financials, Coupa, ServiceNow, LMS platforms, HR systems, and physical security tools.
• Advanced communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, including the ability to translate complex technical topics into concise business impacts, options, risks, recommendations, and decisions for senior leaders.
• Ability to strategically lead during periods of ambiguity and change while balancing multiple priorities, delivery needs, risk, cost, and operational realities.
