Job summary

CSL is seeking a plasma collection professional to work under limited supervision, performing venipuncture and monitoring the pheresis process to collect plasma efficiently.

The role requires knowledge of SOPs, donor setup, monitoring for reactions, accurate data entry in the donor information system, and adherence to HSE/OSHA policies while maintaining donor safety and center workflow.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent vocational or technical training; specialized medical or phlebotomy training preferred
• Minimum 18 months’ experience in medical or health provider environment preferred, or equivalent education and experience
• Ability to perform basic math calculations
• For NY centers, licensed/practical nursing or RN, CLT/CLT tech, PA, or 6 months' experience collecting whole blood

Responsibilities

• Collect plasma by performing venipuncture under limited supervision
• Follow SOPs for plasma collection including donor setup, monitoring and disconnect
• Evaluate vein performance to expedite donation time and ensure product quality and donor safety
• Explain screening, health tests, appointment system, donor policies, and nutrition to donors
• Monitor for donor reactions and assist or notify staff as needed
• Record incidents with PDA, including machine alerts and donor events
• Perform calibrations and service equipment; respond to alarms or issues
• Ensure accurate donor data in electronic management system
• Follow HSE and OSHA policies and procedures
• Monitor donor flow and alert supervisor of issues
