Job summary

CSL Vifor is seeking a plasma collection technician to perform venipuncture and monitor the pheresis process. You will set up donors, track data, and ensure safety and compliance during collection sessions.

The role requires basic math, attention to donor well-being, and adherence to SOPs and OSHA/HSE guidelines. A high school diploma with phlebotomy training is preferred, with 18 months’ relevant experience recommended.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; specialized medical or phlebotomy training preferred.
• Minimum 18 months’ experience in medical or health provider environment preferred, or equivalent education/experience.
• For Centers in NY, additional licensed/clinical requirements may apply per local regulations.

Responsibilities

• Under limited supervision, perform venipuncture and monitor pheresis to collect plasma.
• Follow SOPs for donor setup, venipuncture, monitoring and disconnect.
• Evaluate vein performance to expedite donation time while ensuring product quality and donor safety.
• Explain screening, health tests, appointment system, donation fees, center policies, nutrition and related info to donors.
• Monitor donors for reactions and assist staff as needed.
• Record incidents using the PDA and document machine alerts, volume variances, and adverse events.
• Perform calibrations and respond to complex equipment alarms or donor issues.
• Ensure accurate donor data entry in the electronic donor information system.
• Follow Health, Safety, Environmental (HSE) and OSHA policies.
• Monitor donor flow and alert leadership to any flow issues.
