Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a senior Piping Engineering & Analysis professional to lead project teams on nuclear and industrial piping evaluations. The role emphasizes ASME code compliance, design reviews, and coordination across disciplines to ensure quality, constructability, and operability.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Mechanics, Aerospace, or Structural/Civil Engineering, ABET‑accredited program, with emphasis in solid mechanics, structural analysis, elasticity, metallurgy, and finite element analysis.
• 10+ years of relevant experience.
• Extensive knowledge of ASME B31.1 and ASME B&PV Section III piping codes.
• Knowledge of design, selection, and application of pipe supporting elements.
• Working knowledge of piping products and their application.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide senior level technical direction and supervision to project team members.
• Establish task schedules and budgets for discipline to meet project requirements.
• Coordinate activities between disciplines; act as technical liaison with client.
• Review complex calculations and approve simple calculations; guide project team.
• Review and approve simple and complex system/structural designs and drawings.
• Prepare and review major system, installation, and material specifications; define technical and commercial requirements.
• Prepare bid evaluations and participate in vendor negotiations; evaluate change orders.
