Job summary

ENERCON is seeking a Principal Power Uprate Piping Engineer in Naperville, IL to lead critical piping stress analysis and design for nuclear facilities. You will mentor junior staff, collaborate across disciplines, and ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.

You will prepare detailed analyses, supporting calculations and engineering reports; coordinate with project teams and clients to deliver robust, compliant solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
• 10+ years of experience in piping design, pipe stress analysis, and nuclear power design engineering.
• Experience with AutoPIPE, PIPESTRESS, ME101 or similar tools.
• US Citizenship required.
• Approximate travel of 10% as needed.

Responsibilities

• Pipe Stress Analysis & Pipe Support Design: Prepare documentation for piping systems; perform static and dynamic analysis; evaluate stresses; locate supports; coordinate with Civil/Structural group; review isometrics.
• Engineering Documentation & Analysis: Produce engineering documents per codes, standards, and regulations; adhere to ENERCON procedures.
• Regulatory Compliance & Technical Standards: Stay up-to-date with industry codes and safety practices.
• Quality Assurance & Peer Review: Provide reviews of engineering designs and documentation.
• Client Relations & Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Build relationships with clients and coordinate with other disciplines.
