Job summary

SCA Health in Atlanta, GA, is hiring a Registered Nurse Pre-Assessment Testing to support perioperative care across our facilities. You will evaluate patients preoperatively, coordinate screening and clearance, and partner with the anesthesia team to optimize patient safety.

The ideal candidate is a graduate of an accredited school of nursing, holds state licensure, and has BLS; ACLS and PALS are required within 90 days.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing.
• One year of pre-op, PACU, and/or medical / surgical nursing experience.
• Current state licensure to practice within good standing.
• Successful completion of Basic Life Support (BLS) or BCLS within 90 days of employment.
• Successful completion of Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) within 90 days of employment.
• Successful completion of Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) if pediatric care is included within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Promote the mission, vision, and values of SCA Health.
• Describe the underlying pathophysiology of commonly encountered disease processes.
• Describe the physiology associated with various anesthesia techniques and interventions.
• Develop an individualized perianesthesia plan of care and communicate status.
• Review preoperative data and notify physicians of abnormalities.
• Serve as primary contact for referral sources to screen and clearance patients.
• Understand medications and educate patients on day-of-surgery medications.
• Demonstrate safe operation of equipment and follow safety procedures.
• Provide education regarding perioperative care to patient and family.
• Protect patient rights, privacy, and confidentiality.
