Job summary

SCA Health is hiring a Registered Nurse Pre-Assessment Testing professional to support preoperative evaluation and clearance for surgeries. The role focuses on evaluating patient history, coordinating screening, and educating patients for day-of-surgery while upholding safety and quality standards.

You will work within a perioperative team to ensure accurate documentation, adherence to universal protocols, and effective communication with patients, families, and providers.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing.
• One year of pre-op, PACU, and/or medical/surgical nursing experience is required.
• Current state licensure to practice within good standing is required.

Responsibilities

• Promote the mission, vision, and values of SCA Health.
• Describe the underlying pathophysiology of commonly encountered disease processes.
• Develop an individualized perianesthesia plan of care and communicate patient status throughout the perioperative continuum.
• Review preoperative data, coordinate screening/clearance, and ensure medications are appropriately managed for day-of-surgery.
• Provide education to patients and families and ensure safety and infection control protocols are followed.
