Job summary

SCA Health in Englewood Cliffs, NJ is seeking a Registered Nurse Pre-Assessment Testing to promote the mission, values, and safety across the perioperative continuum. You will develop individualized care plans, communicate patient status, and educate patients on perioperative medication management.

Qualified candidates have nursing credentials, 1 year in pre-op/PACU/medical-surgical nursing, and current BLS/ACLS/PALS certifications as applicable.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing.
• One year of pre-op, PACU, and/or medical/surgical nursing experience.
• Current state licensure to practice in good standing.
• Successful completion of BLS or BCLS within 90 days of employment.
• Successful completion of ACLS within 90 days of employment.
• Successful completion of PALS if pediatric care is included within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Promote the mission, vision, and values of SCA.
• Describe pathophysiology of common diseases.
• Explain physiology of anesthesia techniques and procedures.
• Develop an individualized perianesthesia care plan.
• Communicate patient status across perioperative care.
• Assist in patient screening and clearance for procedures.
• Educate patients on medications for day of surgery.
• Ensure safe operation of equipment and safety practices.
