Job summary

Flourish Health is seeking a Senior Manager of People Operations to lead and scale our HR function in a remote environment across the United States. You will mentor a growing team, drive compliance across multi-state regulations, and partner with leadership to align people initiatives with our mission in mental health.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
• 8+ years of progressive experience in People Operations or HR with at least 3 years in a people management role.
• Extensive experience managing complex employee relations matters including disciplinary actions, investigations, and terminations.
• Expert knowledge of FMLA, ADA, and other leave management programs.
• Deep expertise in multi‑state employment law compliance and risk management.
• Demonstrated success scaling HR operations in a growing organization.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of HR professionals, providing coaching, mentorship, and performance management.
• Build and scale the People Ops function to support organizational growth and health.
• Be consistently hands‑on while strategically delegating and training team members to take ownership of key functions as the team expands.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement, regularly assessing and optimizing People Ops processes and systems.
• HR & Employee Relations: Manage complex employee relations matters including disciplinary actions, investigations, and terminations.
• Oversee FMLA administration, ADA accommodation requests, and other leave management programs across all organizations.
• Conduct regular audits of HR practices, policies, and employee files to ensure compliance and mitigate risk.
• Act as an escalation point for sensitive or high‑stakes employee situations.
• Model Flourish values in challenging moments and coach team members to do the same.
• Multi‑State Compliance & Risk Management: Oversee employment law compliance across multiple states, ensuring adherence to federal, state, and local regulations.
• Stay current on evolving employment legislation and proactively implement policy and process changes.
• Partner with Director of People Operations on compliance matters and risk mitigation strategies.
• Benefits & HRIS Management: Oversee benefits administration across multiple organizations, ensuring competitive and compliant offerings.
• Manage annual benefits renewal processes, vendor relationships, and employee communications.
• Lead open enrollment processes and serve as escalation point for complex benefits issues.
• Oversee HRIS and ATS administration, ensuring data integrity and system optimization.
• Develop and track key People Ops metrics to inform strategic decisions.
• Ensure accurate and compliant employee records and documentation across all systems.
