This role emphasizes technical leadership, teaching junior staff, and driving process improvements while handling the most challenging cases. The role focuses on notice responses, amended returns, and payroll tax corrections across multiple states, with emphasis on accuracy and timely resolution.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of payroll tax defect resolution focus for notices and amended returns.
• Ability to independently draft penalty abatements and agency responses with documentation.
• Experience preparing amended Federal (Form 941-X, W-2c) and State payroll tax returns across multiple states.

Responsibilities

• Resolve complex payroll tax notices across multiple states and quarters, from intake to closure.
• Prepare and file amended Federal and State payroll tax returns across 10+ states.
• Diagnose payroll tax errors spanning multiple pay periods; correct and reconcile liabilities.
• Maintain high productivity resolving corrections, amendments, and notices with accuracy.
• Coach and mentor Senior Processors; share knowledge to build team capability.
