Intuit seeks a Staff Payroll Tax Processor to lead end-to-end resolution of payroll tax issues, focusing on notices, corrections, and amendments. You will own complex cases, mentor junior staff, and drive process improvements while delivering high-quality client outcomes.

The role emphasizes tax defect resolution over standard payroll processing, with remote or flexible hours and eligibility for overtime pay. A strong foundation in state and federal payroll taxes is essential.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of payroll tax experience with tax defect resolution across multiple states.
• Expert knowledge of state and federal payroll tax notices; ability to draft penalty abatement requests with documentation.
• Hands-on experience preparing amended Federal (Form 941-X, W-2c) and State returns across states, incl. PA, OH.

Responsibilities

• Resolve complex State and Federal payroll tax notices, owning full case lifecycle.
• Prepare and file amended Federal and State payroll tax returns (Form 941-X) across 10+ states.
• Diagnose and resolve payroll tax errors across multiple pay periods; trace discrepancies to payroll run.
• Maintain high productivity in resolving correction, amendment, and notice requests with high accuracy.
• Monitor WIP, identify aging cases and blockers, and drive resolution path with root-cause analysis.
• Serve as real-time resource for Senior Processors, coaching and teaching resolution processes.
