Intuit, Inc. is seeking a Staff Payroll Tax Processor on SelectTime to lead complex state and federal payroll tax defect resolution, including notices, amendments, and corrections for multiple states.

This role acts as a technical lead and SME, mentoring others and owning the most complex cases. You will collaborate with Corrections, Amendments, Pay & File, and Tax Notice teams, develop SOPs, and drive process improvements.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of payroll tax experience with a focus on tax defect resolution for notices, amended returns, and payroll corrections across multiple states.
• Expert knowledge of state and federal payroll tax notices; ability to draft penalty abatement requests and agency response letters.
• Experience preparing amended Federal (941-X, W-2c) and State payroll tax returns across diverse jurisdictions.

Responsibilities

• Resolve complex State and Federal payroll tax notices end-to-end, including multi-quarter and multi-state scenarios.
• Prepare and file amended Federal and State payroll tax returns (941-X and state equivalents) across 10+ states.
• Diagnose and resolve payroll tax errors spanning multiple pay periods; trace discrepancies to the originating payroll run and drive correction workflows.
• Maintain high productivity resolving Corrections, Amendments, and Notice resolution requests with high accuracy.
• Coach and mentor team members; conduct structured coaching sessions and share resolution knowledge.
• Author, review, and update SOPs and Knowledge Base articles for core processes.
• Identify trends and emerging compliance issues; communicate findings with recommended actions to stakeholders.
• Collaborate with Corrections, Amendments, Pay & File, and Tax Notice teams to resolve intertwined issues end-to-end.
