Intuit is hiring a Staff Payroll Tax Processor to serve as a senior payroll tax expert and SME. This role focuses on end-to-end resolution of tax notices, amendments, and corrections, while mentoring less experienced staff and owning the most complex cases.

The position emphasizes fixing payroll tax problems, not running payroll, with responsibilities spanning preparation of amended returns and cross-team collaboration. Flexible, hourly work with overtime eligibility is offered.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of payroll tax experience with focus on tax defect resolution across multiple states.
• Ability to independently draft penalty abatement requests and agency response letters with documentation.
• Experience preparing amended Federal and State payroll tax returns (Form 941-X, W-2c) across multiple states.

Responsibilities

• Resolve complex State and Federal payroll tax notices, ownership of the case lifecycle from intake to closure.
• Prepare and file amended returns across 10+ states, including W-2c and SSA reconciliation.
• Diagnose payroll tax errors across pay periods and jurisdictions and drive correction workflows.
