Job summary

Remote is seeking a Senior Payroll Specialist to oversee end-to-end payroll operations across the United States and Canada in a fully remote environment. You will work with HR, Finance, Operations and Labor Relations to ensure accurate, timely payrolls, including unionized employees under CBAs, and support data integrity across jurisdictions.

You will drive process improvements, maintain SOPs, and partner with stakeholders to optimize payroll systems (ADP Workforce Now) while ensuring compliance

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 3–5 years of payroll experience including multi-state US and Canadian payroll.
• Experience processing payroll for unionized workforces and interpreting CBAs.
• Knowledge of union payroll practices: dues, wage structures, overtime, premiums.
• Experience supporting payroll compliance in union environments, audits and reporting.
• ADP Workforce Now experience required; UKG time management a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage full-cycle, multi-jurisdictional payroll across the US and Canada using ADP Workforce Now.
• Process regular and off-cycle payrolls including bonuses, retroactive pay, terminations.
• Reconcile payroll data with HR, benefits, and Finance for accuracy.
• Apply CBAs to payroll, including union wage rates and shift differentials.
• Validate union earnings such as overtime, call-out pay, per diem.
• Administer and reconcile union dues and labor-related deductions.
• Coordinate payroll changes due to contracts, wage increases, or settlements.
• Maintain payroll records for represented employees and audit readiness.
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws and local regulations; update SOPs.
• Support audits with accurate records and documentation.
