Job summary

CMA CGM in Norfolk, VA seeks a Sr Payroll Specialist to manage multi-state and multi-cycle payroll, ensuring accuracy of records, audits, and tax accounts, and act as backup to the Payroll Manager.

You will mentor the payroll team, maintain UKG configurations, coordinate 401(k) data, and support year-end activities such as W-2 reporting, with a focus on regulatory compliance and confidential handling of payroll information.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of multi-state payroll experience is required.
• Experience with Canadian payroll, multistate, union and non-union payroll preferred.
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred; High School Diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Process multi-state, multi-cycle payrolls from beginning to end.
• Audit time entries for compliance and resolve discrepancies.
• Prepare reports and assist year-end activities including W2 and tax reconciliation.
• Mentor payroll team and back up Payroll Manager.
• Coordinate payroll data with 401(k) data and audits.
