GDI Ainsworth in Burlington, MA is seeking a Payroll Specialist who partners with HR to deliver accurate and compliant payroll across multiple U.S. states.

Reporting to the Payroll Manager, you will manage data entry, respond to employee pay inquiries, process off-cycle payments, and generate payroll reports, W-2s, and tax documents.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree and 5–7 years of full-cycle payroll experience, with UKG experience and strong MS Office skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required.
• 5–7 years of full-cycle payroll experience across multiple locations.
• In-depth knowledge of payroll compliance and accounting practices.
• Experience with UKG and processing hourly, salaried, and commission-based payrolls.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills and proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Process full-cycle payroll for hourly and salaried employees across multiple U.S. states.
• Accurately input and maintain employee data including new hires, terminations, transfers, and compensation changes.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local wage and hour laws, as well as company policies.
• Respond to employee inquiries regarding pay, deductions, and payroll policies in a timely and professional manner.
• Coordinate with HR and department managers to verify timekeeping data and resolve discrepancies.
• Process off-cycle checks, bonuses, and manual payments as needed.
• Prepare and review payroll reports for accuracy and provide audits as required.
• Maintain payroll records and documentation in accordance with legal and internal requirements.
• Generate and distribute pay statements, W-2s, and other tax documents.
• Assist in payroll tax reporting and filings in coordination with internal or external tax partners.
• Support year-end and quarter-end processes including reconciliations and audits.
