Job summary

Higginbotham HR Services is seeking a Payroll Specialist to process payroll for an assigned client list with accuracy and regulatory compliance. This role collaborates with HR, Benefits and FMLA teams to ensure timely payroll processing and reporting.

The hybrid position requires knowledge of federal/state payroll laws, the ability to manage time and attendance, and proficiency with payroll software and MS Office. CPP/FPC is preferred.

Qualifications

• 3+ years payroll experience or CPP/FPC preferred.
• Knowledge of federal/state wage and hour laws.
• Proficient with payroll software and MS Office.
• Strong communication and accuracy required.

Responsibilities

• Process payroll for assigned client list using payroll software.
• Manage time and attendance system and related tasks.
• Prepare payroll reports and deliver to clients each cycle.
• Handle PTO balances, new hires, deductions and tax changes.
• Coordinate year-end W-2s and respond to employee questions.
• Set up new locations, positions, and pay codes as needed.
• Address tax notices and payroll discrepancies with vendors.
• Stay current on payroll laws and compliance requirements.
