Job summary

Kforce has a client in Fairfield, CA seeking a Payroll Specialist for a 6-month contract-to-hire, fully onsite for the first 90 days with a potential to transition to a hybrid schedule. The role supports a high-volume payroll environment with ADP and advanced Excel.

You will own complex payroll processing, audits, reconciliations, and payroll accounting activities for a large employee population, including month-end and year-end close.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of hands-on payroll experience.
• Experience supporting payroll for 1,700+ employees.
• Strong ADP experience.
• Advanced Excel skills for large data sets.
• Payroll auditing and tax reconciliation knowledge.
• Payroll accounting including GL and month/year-end close.

Responsibilities

• Process and audit high-volume hourly/non-exempt payroll.
• Research and resolve timekeeping exceptions and payroll discrepancies.
• Manage deductions, garnishments, benefits calculations, and payroll taxes.
• Perform payroll reconciliations and GL activities.
• Support month-end and year-end payroll close.
• Analyze large payroll data sets with advanced Excel.
