Responsibilities

Kforce has a client in Fairfield, CA that is seeking a Payroll Specialist for a 6-month contract-to-hire opportunity that is fully onsite for the first 90 days, with the potential to transition to a hybrid schedule of 2-3 days onsite. The candidate must work PST hours. Summary: The Payroll Specialist will support a high-volume payroll environment and be responsible for complex payroll processing, auditing, reconciliations, and payroll accounting activities. This role requires strong ADP experience, advanced Excel skills, and the ability to independently manage detailed payroll processes for a large employee population. Key responsibilities include:

• Process and audit high-volume hourly/non-exempt payroll
• Research and resolve timekeeping exceptions, payroll discrepancies, and corrections
• Manage deductions, garnishments, benefits calculations, and payroll taxes
• Perform payroll reconciliations and general ledger activities
• Support month-end and year-end payroll accounting and close processes
• Manipulate and analyze large payroll data sets using advanced Excel

Requirements

• 4+ years of hands-on, payroll-focused experience
• Experience supporting payroll for organizations with 1,700+ employees
• Strong high-volume hourly/non-exempt payroll experience
• Hands-on ADP experience
• Advanced Excel skills, including large-scale data manipulation and analysis
• Strong knowledge of payroll auditing, corrections, deductions, garnishments, and tax reconciliation
• Experience with payroll accounting, general ledger activity, month-end/year-end close, and complex reconciliations
• Ability to independently own and manage complex payroll processes

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
