Job summary

Sharp Packaging Solutions, part of UDG Healthcare plc, is seeking a Payroll Specialist to manage weekly and bi-weekly payrolls, ensure data accuracy, and support regulatory compliance in a dynamic team environment. You will collaborate with HRIS and payroll vendors, generate reports on 401(k), FSA, and related items, and act as a backup to the Payroll Manager while pursuing process improvements.

Experience with ADP Workforce Now, Dimensions Timekeeping, or Workday is preferred; a high school

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of payroll administration and regulations.
  • Experience with HRIS and payroll systems.
  • Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

  • Compiles payroll data for weekly and bi-weekly payrolls including timecard review and deductions.
  • Ensures data integrity between HRIS, timekeeping, and payroll systems; supports data transfers.
  • Generates weekly/monthly reports for benefits programs (401k, FSA, HSA) and responds to inquiries.
  • Assists with regulatory compliance and resolves payroll tax discrepancies; acts as backup to Payroll Manager.

Under general supervision of the Manager, Payroll, compiles payroll data to maintain payroll records, process payroll and compile reports by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The following is a list of minimum responsibilities related to the Payroll Specialist position. Other duties may also be assigned.

  • Compiles payroll data for weekly (union) and bi-weekly (non-union) payrolls, including but not limited to timecard review, commissions, bonuses, wage garnishments, disability payments, taxable fringe benefits, statutory taxes and withholdings, direct deposit(s) and union obligations.
  • Ensures data integrity between HRIS, time keeping and payroll systems and assists with integrations that support data transfer between those systems.
  • Responsible for weekly and monthly reporting to include union, 401k, FSA, HSA, etc.
  • Responds to outside agencies and vendor data inquiries.
  • Assist with ensuring continuing compliance with all statutory and regulatory Payroll requirements. Work with payroll vendor to investigate and resolve discrepancies related to payroll taxes.
  • Identifies, recommends and implements continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Act as primary back-up to the Payroll Manager for all payroll processes.

PREFERRED / REQUIRED EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
  • Minimum High School Diploma and a minimum of five (5) years of related experience and/or training.
  • Technical aptitude for the following software systems: ADP Workforce Now, Dimensions Timekeeping and/or Workday.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, proficiency in Excel.
