Job summary

Sharp Services is seeking a Payroll Administrator to join our team in a role that handles weekly and bi-weekly payroll, including union and non-union runs. You will ensure accurate data flow between HRIS and timekeeping systems, compile comprehensive payroll reports, and support regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

  • Proven knowledge of payroll data processing and compliance.
  • Experience with HRIS and payroll systems, and understanding of federal/state regulations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Minimum High School Diploma and at least five years of related experience.

Responsibilities

  • Compiles payroll data for weekly and bi-weekly payrolls, including timecard review, bonuses, and withholdings.
  • Ensures data integrity between HRIS, timekeeping and payroll systems.
  • Prepares weekly and monthly reports (union, 401k, FSA, HSA).
  • Responds to inquiries from outside agencies and vendors.
  • Supports compliance with statutory payroll requirements and resolves payroll tax discrepancies.
  • Identifies and implements continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Acts as back-up to Payroll Manager for payroll processes.

Under general supervision of the Manager, Payroll, compiles payroll data to maintain payroll records, process payroll and compile reports by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Compiles payroll data for weekly (union) and bi-weekly (non-union) payrolls, including but not limited to timecard review, commissions, bonuses, wage garnishments, disability payments, taxable fringe benefits, statutory taxes and withholdings, direct deposit(s) and union obligations.
  • Ensures data integrity between HRIS, time keeping and payroll systems and assists with integrations that support data transfer between those systems.
  • Responsible for weekly and monthly reporting to include union, 401k, FSA, HSA, etc.
  • Responds to outside agencies and vendor data inquiries.
  • Assist with ensuring continuing compliance with all statutory and regulatory Payroll requirements. Work with payroll vendor to investigate and resolve discrepancies related to payroll taxes.
  • Identifies, recommends and implements continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Act as primary back-up to the Payroll Manager for all payroll processes.

PREFERRED / REQUIRED EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
  • Minimum High School Diploma and a minimum of five (5) years of related experience and/or training.
  • Technical aptitude for the following software systems: ADP Workforce Now, Dimensions Timekeeping and/or Workday.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, proficiency in Excel.
