Job summary

Sharp Packaging Services seeks a payroll professional to manage weekly and bi-weekly payrolls, ensure data integrity across HRIS and timekeeping, and produce regular reports for unions, 401k, FSA, and HSA.

Under general supervision of the Manager, Payroll, you will back up payroll processes, investigate discrepancies, and support regulatory compliance while collaborating with external vendors to streamline data flows.

Qualifications

  • Requires strong knowledge of HRIS and payroll systems and federal/state regulations.
  • Minimum five years of payroll experience with attention to accuracy and compliance.
  • Proficiency with ADP Workforce Now, Dimensions Timekeeping or Workday and Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Compiles payroll data for weekly and bi-weekly payrolls (union and non-union).
  • Ensures data integrity between HRIS, timekeeping and payroll systems.
  • Generates weekly and monthly reports (union, 401k, FSA, HSA).
  • Responds to external agencies and vendor inquiries.
  • Supports regulatory payroll compliance and resolves discrepancies with the payroll vendor.
  • Acts as back-up to the Payroll Manager for all payroll processes.

Job description

Under general supervision of the Manager, Payroll, compiles payroll data to maintain payroll records, process payroll and compile reports by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Compiles payroll data for weekly (union) and bi-weekly (non-union) payrolls, including but not limited to timecard review, commissions, bonuses, wage garnishments, disability payments, taxable fringe benefits, statutory taxes and withholdings, direct deposit(s) and union obligations.
  • Ensures data integrity between HRIS, time keeping and payroll systems and assists with integrations that support data transfer between those systems.
  • Responsible for weekly and monthly reporting to include union, 401k, FSA, HSA, etc.
  • Responds to outside agencies and vendor data inquiries.
  • Assist with ensuring continuing compliance with all statutory and regulatory Payroll requirements.
  • Work with payroll vendor to investigate and resolve discrepancies related to payroll taxes.
  • Identifies, recommends and implements continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Act as primary back-up to the Payroll Manager for all payroll processes.

PREFERRED / REQUIRED EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
  • Minimum High School Diploma and a minimum of five (5) years of related experience and/or training.
  • Technical aptitude for the following software systems: ADP Workforce Now, Dimensions Timekeeping and/or Workday.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, proficiency in Excel.
