Qualifications

• 10+ years payroll processing experience for a mid-to-large sized company in a multi-state environment
• 5+ years experience in payroll and people supervision
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field
• Payroll certification preferred
• Advanced knowledge of ADP Workforce Now and ADP Time and Attendance
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to juggle multiple projects while maintaining deadlines
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Stay up to date on changes in payroll laws and regulations

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the full-cycle payroll process for 1,700+ employees
• Supervise, train, and support payroll staff and coordinate with accounting team for accurate financial reporting
• Conduct performance assessments of Payroll staff
• Develop, document, and maintain payroll SOPs, internal controls, and system set up documents
• Oversee payroll inquiries and issues, ensuring timely, compliant resolutions
• Oversee payroll reporting, payroll related audits, 401K/Roth contributions, benefit deductions, and garnishments
• Audit new hires, rehires, employee changes, terminations, final payments
• Oversee security access permissions
• Oversee payroll audits, reconciliations, payroll journal entries, tax filings, and year-end processes
• Review current processes and procedures to improve efficiency and to optimize the use of technology
• Oversee secure and confidential payroll system and files, exercise discretion with sensitive payroll information
• Stay up to date on changes in payroll laws, tax regulations, and industry best practices
