Job summary

Player 15 Group seeks an experienced Director, Payroll to oversee multi-state payroll operations and drive department initiatives. You will lead multi-cycle payroll, ensure tax compliance, and partner with People & Culture, Finance and IT to resolve discrepancies and improve processes.

You will also mentor payroll staff, produce payroll reports, and safeguard confidential information. This role requires leadership and deep payroll expertise to support the organization’s financial integrity.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressive payroll experience, including multi-state payroll.
• 3+ years of management or leadership experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field preferred.
• Strong knowledge of payroll tax laws and payroll accounting.
• Experience with HRIS/payroll systems; Dayforce preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead accurate and timely multi-cycle, multi-state payroll processing.
• Ensure compliance with payroll tax and labor laws, including filings.
• Oversee payroll systems, PTO accruals, pay card programs, audits and documentation.
• Partner with People & Culture, Finance and IT to resolve discrepancies.
• Lead, coach and develop Payroll team members.
• Prepare payroll reports and support payroll accounting, tax and GL functions.
• Maintain confidentiality of employee and company financial information.
