Job summary

Veeva Systems is seeking a senior payroll leader to manage semi-monthly and bi-weekly payroll across US and Canada, including equity-related tasks, with a strong service orientation and timely execution.

You will ensure compliance with payroll tax regulations, drive process improvements, partner with Employee Success, Accounting, IT and vendors, and lead a remote payroll team to maintain data integrity and strong operational coverage.

Qualifications

• Progressive payroll experience across multiple states and countries.
• Experience with equity compensation processing.
• Experience with payroll tax compliance and SOX controls.
• Experience in a high-growth tech or SaaS company and system implementations.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for semi-monthly and bi-weekly multi-state US and Canada payroll and all equity related payroll tasks with strong service orientation and timely execution
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations and multi-state employment requirements
• Drive process improvements and automation within payroll operations
• Partner closely with Employee Success, Accounting, IT, and external vendors to resolve any issues, maintain data integrity and improve payroll operations
• Partner with Employee Success team on employee matters such as new hires, terminations and leaves of absence
• Lead and develop a remote payroll team, fostering accountability, cross-training, and strong operational coverage
• Stay current on evolving payroll compliance requirements
• Partner with accounting team on payroll journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations
• Responsible for payroll related SOX controls and audit requests
