Job summary

Spooky Nook Sports Inc. is seeking a Payroll Supervisor to oversee processing and reporting of payroll for our organization.

The role ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and partners with Finance and HR to resolve issues while maintaining data integrity. As a full-time member, you will manage Garnishments, tax jurisdictions in Paylocity, month-end closings, W-2s, and payroll training.

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, or related field preferred.
• Previous payroll experience in a mid to large-size company that processes salary, hourly, per piece, commission, and bonus pay types.
• Advanced knowledge of payroll administration, controls, governance, and accounting best practices.
• Knowledge of Paylocity timekeeping, payroll, and/or other HCM software preferred.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel and strong math/analytic skills.
• Ability to handle highly sensitive information with discretion.

Responsibilities

• Oversee payroll processing ensuring compliance with federal, state, local and other regulations; advise management of changes and impact on the organization.
• Oversee and ensure accurate, timely, and compliant payroll processing – review time sheets and payroll calculations.
• Ensure all garnishments and other legally mandated wage withholdings are present.
• Add additional tax jurisdictions into Paylocity and ensure proper tax amounts are calculated and filed quarterly.
• Partner with Finance and Human Resources to resolve payroll-related matters across functions.
• Prepare month-end closing entries and reconciliations for payroll-related GL accounts.
• Review and submit annual W-2s.
• Lead payroll training and provide reports to directors, managers, and supervisors.
• Oversee the Payroll Specialist and assist with audits as needed.
• Maintain SOPs and payroll policies; implement new ideas to improve efficiency and reduce risk.
• Maintain confidentiality and support HR and Accounting operations.
