Job summary

National Church Residences is hiring a Payroll Manager to lead our payroll function and team across multiple states. You will ensure accurate, timely payroll processing, establish strong controls, and drive improvements in processes and technology, partnering with HR Operations, Finance, and IT.

The role emphasizes compliance, governance, and employee service, with a focus on leveraging Workday and related systems to support organizational growth and accurate reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related field.
• 7+ years of payroll experience with leadership responsibility.
• 3+ years of people leadership in payroll.
• Familiarity with federal, state, and local payroll requirements.
• Experience with enterprise HRIS/payroll systems; Workday preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide end-to-end leadership for payroll operations and processing.
• Develop and maintain payroll controls, reconciliations, and reporting.
• Lead, coach, and develop payroll team members.
• Collaborate with Finance, HR, and technology teams to optimize payroll.
• Ensure compliance with wage, hour, and tax regulations across jurisdictions.
