Job summary

Spotless Brands LLC is seeking a Payroll Lead to act as a functional lead and subject-matter expert for payroll operations. The role works closely with the Payroll Manager to ensure accurate processing, strong controls, and timely responses to internal stakeholders.

The incumbent will back up the Payroll Manager during absences, coordinate workflow, and contribute to process improvements and audits across the payroll function.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, HR, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
• 5+ years of progressive payroll experience, including senior payroll resource/lead experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee day-to-day payroll processing activities, ensuring accuracy and deadlines.
• Serve as first point of contact for Payroll Specialists on processing questions and issues.
• Coordinate daily workflow within the Payroll team with the Payroll Manager.
• Troubleshoot complex payroll issues and escalate when needed.
• Support payroll tax filings, payments, reconciliations, and year-end reporting.
• Maintain payroll controls and identify compliance or process risks.
• Act as backup to the Payroll Manager during absences and assist with special projects.
• Assist with process improvements and audits across payroll operations.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders and ensure timely responses to inquiries.
