Job summary

New York City Department of Transportation is seeking a Payroll Analyst to research and resolve items on RMDS, PMS, and related payroll reports. You will audit payments, process ATGs, and ensure timely updates to salary and direct deposits, collaborating with payroll and personnel teams to implement solutions.

The role requires strong analytical and communication skills, knowledge of PMS/CHRMS/RMDS, and the ability to interpret policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and two years of satisfactory clerical/administrative experience, one year in supervisory capacity.
• Associate degree or 60 credits and three years of clerical/administrative experience including supervisory.
• Four-year high school diploma and four years of clerical/administrative experience including supervisory.
• Education/experience equivalent with supervisory experience; substitution rules apply.

Responsibilities

• Research, evaluate and resolve items on RMDS, PMS, PTAPD160 and PTAPW161 reports; audit and prepare for payments.
• Audit the 700 report bi-weekly against prior cycle per Directive 13; review 319 report with payroll staff.
• Ensure ATGs and salary updates after title changes; process direct deposits, stops, and reversals.
• Prepare MLS as needed; respond to payroll inquiries; implement day-to-day payroll solutions; review retroactive payments.
