Job summary

Beacon Hill Staffing Group, LLC is seeking an experienced payroll professional to oversee and ensure accurate, timely payroll processing for approximately 900 employees across the United States and Canada. The role partners with HR and leadership to maintain controls and SOPs.

You will audit payroll transactions, administer benefits, and mentor payroll staff while leveraging UKG Pro/UKG Ready and advanced Excel skills to analyze large data sets and drive process improvements.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of progressive payroll experience.
• 2+ years of benefits administration experience.
• Supervisory, lead, or mentoring experience in payroll or HR operations.
• Strong understanding of multi-state payroll processing.
• Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP).
• Experience with UKG Pro/UKG Ready or similar systems.
• Experience creating SOPs and process documentation.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and ensure accurate, timely payroll processing for ~900 employees across the United States and Canada.
• Audit payroll transactions, time records, deductions, earnings, taxes, and payroll-related reporting.
• Administer employee benefit programs and assist with enrollments, claims, and issues.
• Serve as liaison between employees, benefit providers, and payroll tax authorities.
• Partner with leadership to establish, document, and maintain payroll and benefits processes and controls.
• Create and maintain SOPs to support compliance and consistency.
• Mentor and provide day-to-day leadership to payroll staff.
• Collaborate with onboarding and HR for payroll setup and transitions.
• Assist with reconciliations, reporting, audits, and special projects.
• Leverage Excel to analyze, reconcile, and report on large data sets.
