Job summary

Beacon Hill in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Payroll & Benefits Supervisor to lead payroll processing for ~900 US and Canada employees, oversee benefit programs, and drive process improvements. You will mentor staff, partner with HR and leadership, and develop SOPs to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting across multi-state payroll.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of progressive payroll experience
• 2+ years of benefits administration experience
• Prior supervisory or mentoring experience within payroll or HR operations
• Strong understanding of multi-state payroll processing
• Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP)
• Experience with UKG Pro, UKG Ready or similar systems

Responsibilities

• Oversee payroll processing for ~900 employees across the US and Canada
• Audit and review payroll transactions, time records, deductions, earnings, taxes, and reporting
• Administer employee benefit programs and assist with enrollments, claims, and issue resolution
• Serve as liaison between employees, benefit providers, and payroll tax authorities
• Partner with leadership to establish, document, and maintain payroll and benefits processes and controls
• Create and maintain SOPs to support compliance and operational consistency
• Mentor and lead payroll support staff
• Collaborate with onboarding and HR to ensure accurate payroll setup
• Assist with reconciliations, reporting, audits, and special projects
• Leverage Excel to analyze and report on large data sets
