Job summary

WhiteCap Search is seeking a Payroll Manager based in Stamford, CT to oversee payroll processing for the United States and Canada. You will manage UKG Pro payroll systems, ensure regulatory compliance, analyze payroll data, and resolve discrepancies while collaborating with HR, finance and other departments.

The role requires 5+ years of payroll experience, strong attention to detail, and excellent communication. Knowledge of equity plans, Excel, and benefits administration is a plus.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of payroll processing and analysis experience.
• Attention to detail and confidentiality.
• Proficiency with UKG Pro payroll software or similar HRIS.
• Strong knowledge of US and Canada payroll regulations and tax rules.
• Experience handling equity plans (stock/ESPP) and incentives.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Knowledge of benefits, compensation, and employment law is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end US and Canada payroll processing with accuracy and timeliness.
• Oversee payroll software systems, configurations, and updates.
• Analyze payroll data to identify trends and improvements.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, local regulations and tax laws.
• Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies and respond to inquiries.
• Assist audits and maintain documentation for internal/external reviews.
• Collaborate with HR, finance and other departments on payroll matters.
• Provide training and support on payroll processes and systems.
• Participate in ad hoc payroll or HR projects as needed.
