Job summary

Stride, Inc. is seeking a Payroll Specialist to independently handle end-to-end biweekly payroll for exempt and non-exempt staff across multiple states using Workday and OSV. You will ensure accurate tax withholdings, resolve payroll issues, and maintain compliance with SOX.

You will also manage payroll records, respond to employee inquiries via ticketing systems, and stay current on payroll legislation. This is a virtual role open to residents nationwide.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required plus five years of payroll experience.
• Three (3) years of Workday payroll experience or equivalent.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience may qualify.

Responsibilities

• End-to-end payroll processing for exempt/non-exempt biweekly multi-state payroll using Workday and OSV.
• Reconcile payroll from period to period.
• Calculate prorated wages and deductions for hires, terminations, status changes.
• Ensure accurate tax withholdings and reciprocity rules.
• Maintain payroll records in compliance with SOX.
• Troubleshoot payroll issues and tax adjustments with minimal supervision.
• Respond to employee inquiries via ticketing system within SLA (24–48 hours).
• Stay current on payroll laws and benefits legislation.
• Manage tax notices with OSV collaboration; handle state/local registrations.
