Job summary

Coinbase, Inc. is seeking a Senior Risk Analyst for Payments Risk Operations to own escalations, oversee high-dollar cases, and drive improvements in risk rules and models. You’ll work with Risk Modeling, Fraud Detection, and Analytics to accelerate investigations using AI with human oversight.

Ideal candidates have 7+ years in payments risk and strong SQL and on-chain tracing skills, reporting to Risk leadership while coaching analysts to improve accuracy and efficiency.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in payments risk, fraud operations, or fraud investigations with escalation authority.
• Deep understanding of ACH, cards, wires, and crypto rails with proven risk improvements.
• Proficiency in SQL and hands-on on-chain tracing using analytics tools.
• Experience reviewing decisions for quality and communicating with stakeholders.
• Responsible use of generative AI with human oversight for workflow gains.

Responsibilities

• Own escalations from Payments Risk Operations and partner teams with high-value losses.
• Lead responses to emerging fraud patterns from detection to remediation.
• Maintain up-to-date risk workflows, SOPs, and controls as products evolve.
• Drive rule/model performance in partnership with Risk Modeling and Analytics.
• Present findings to Risk leadership and cross-functional partners; coach analysts.
