Job summary

Coinbase is seeking a Senior Risk Analyst for Payments Risk Operations. You will act as the escalation point for complex risks across deposits, withdrawals, trading and other flagged activity, ensuring evidence-backed decisions.

You will collaborate with Risk Modeling, Fraud Detection, and Analytics teams, leveraging AI-native tools while maintaining rigorous evidentiary standards. Remote-first with in-person surges.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in payments risk, fraud operations, or fraud investigations with decision-making authority.
• Experience with risk controls, rules, or models based on investigations.

Responsibilities

• Own escalations from Payments Risk Operations and partner teams, including high-dollar losses and suspected fraud.
• Lead the response to emerging fraud patterns from detection to root cause analysis and remediation.
• Maintain knowledge of review workflows, SOPs, and risk controls and keep them current as products/threats evolve.
• Drive rule and model performance with Risk Modeling and Analytics to reduce losses with minimal customer friction.
• Present findings to Risk leadership and partners across Product, Engineering, and Customer Support; coach analysts to improve accuracy.
