Coinbase is seeking a Senior Risk Analyst for the Payments Risk Operations team. You will escalate high-dollar losses and complex cases, guide fraud investigations, and implement risk controls in collaboration with Modeling, Fraud Detection, and Analytics.

You will work AI-native from day one, applying advanced analytics to strengthen processes while maintaining evidentiary standards. You will own escalation handling, monitor emerging patterns, and drive improvements in risk workflows, with

Qualifications

• 7+ years in payments risk, fraud operations, or fraud investigations with escalation authority.
• Deep understanding of ACH, cards, wires, and crypto rails with proven risk-control improvements.
• Proficiency in SQL and hands-on experience tracing funds on-chain with analytics tools.
• Experience reviewing analyst decisions and communicating risk to tech and non-tech stakeholders.
• Uses generative AI responsibly with human oversight to improve workflows, cost, and quality.

Responsibilities

• Own escalations from Payments Risk Operations and partner teams, including high-dollar losses and high-profile accounts.
• Lead response to emerging fraud patterns from detection to root cause analysis and remediation.
• Maintain expert knowledge of review workflows, SOPs, and risk controls as products evolve.
• Drive rule and model performance with Risk Modeling and Analytics, tuning controls to reduce losses with minimal customer friction.
• Present findings and recommendations to Risk leadership and cross-functional partners, coaching analysts.
