Job summary

Providence Swedish Issaquah is seeking a patient access specialist to coordinate care from arrival through registration for services at the Issaquah Highlands facility.

You will perform front office clerical and scheduling duties, verify insurance, handle referrals, triage calls, deliver exceptional service, and serve as a liaison with patients and staff, supporting new staff training and maintaining AIDET standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of recent receptionist or front desk experience in health care.
• Experience with medical terminology and basic medical record processes.
• Associate's Degree or equivalent preferred.
• Medical terminology certification upon hire preferred.
• Experience with medical insurance and billing.
• Experience with computerized scheduling or relational databases.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient registration and scheduling from arrival to service.
• Verify insurance verifications and process physician orders and referrals.
• Triage phone calls and provide exceptional customer service.
• Act as a liaison with patients, families and staff.
• Assist in orientation and training of new staff.
