Job summary

Us Oncology Inc. is seeking a Financial Counseling specialist to educate patients on insurance coverage and benefits, while assessing their financial ability and arranging feasible payment plans.

You will update insurance eligibility in the system and support billing with accurate patient information. Role requires knowledge of CPT/HCPCS coding, strong communication, and proficiency with standard office software.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum three (3) years patient pre-services coordinator or equivalent required.
• Proficiency with computer systems and Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) required.

Responsibilities

• Obtain insurance coverage information and educate patients on benefits, co-pays, deductibles, and expenses.
• Obtain pre-authorization or referral codes from Clinical Reviewer before treatment.
• Review patient balance and notify front desk to arrange payment.
• Verify and update demographics and insurance in the system.
• Stay current on available financial aide; build relationships with providers.
