Job summary

Amentum seeks a Senior Paralegal to support a Department of Justice project in Washington, DC. This full-time onsite position reports to a Supervisory Paralegal or Project Manager and involves litigation support, discovery, and trial-prep tasks.

Qualified candidates have a paralegal certificate or JD, with 2+ years of litigation experience, proficiency in Lexis/Westlaw and eDiscovery tools, and the ability to obtain MRPT credentials as required. Travel up to 50% may be required.

Qualifications

• Paralegal certificate or JD, or current ABA-accredited law school student with at least one year of study.
• At least two years of litigation paralegal experience or relevant project experience; trial experience helpful.
• Experience with financial crimes/non-compliance cases preferred.
• Familiarity with federal and state court systems and legal research resources.

Responsibilities

• Index case files and draft litigation support procedures.
• Compose and edit concise written documents; proofread materials.
• Review audio files and update databases; prepare witnesses and evidence binders.
• Manage discovery items and communicate with DOJ components and others.
• Summarize depositions and conduct simple legal research; assist with motions and briefs.
• Assist during trial with documents, indexes, and exhibits; support electronic discovery tools.
